Monte Vista QB Jeff Lockie Heading to Oregon to be a Duck

Jeff Lockie, the Monte Vista senior, committed to the University of Oregon over the summer.

Recently, an Oregon Ducks fan site, Autenzoo.com, broke down Lockie's recruit rankings and how he might fit in with the Ducks next season.

Rivals.com had him as a 3 star recruit and the 91^st ranked prospect in California. Scout.com had him as a 3 star recruit as well and the 49^th best quarterback in the 2012 class. Lastly, 247sports.com has him as the 19^th best dual-threat quarterback and the 87^th best prospect in California.

As we know recruiting is not an exact science and regardless of the number of stars you earn from a recruiting service, you have to prove yourself on the playing field. If I’m an Oregon Duck fan the only thing I need to know about Jeff Lockie is that Chip Kelly wanted this young man to come in and compete for playing time.
