Danville buyers lead the nation in a recent study of apparel purchasing. This week we found five local boutiques that cater to their clientele's tastes.

If you said Beverly Hills, think again.
A recent study by Pinpoint Demographics ranked communities' per capita spending on clothing for men, women and children combined. Danville residents, specifically those residing in the 94506 zip code, rank at the top of the nation in that study, followed by Los Gatos.

On average, residents were found to spend more than $2,000 per capita on clothing per year, according to the study.
Beverly Hills didn't even make the top ten.

According to the report, women shop more than men.

Opened in 2006, this upscale boutique was the second location opened by partners and friends, Christina Macha and Stephanie Parret, after they established their original location in Merced.
They say their intention is "to allow fashion forward women the ability to capture their personality and individual style with the latest trends."
The store is designed to resemble "a dream closet," and features TRIBAL, David Kahn Jeans, Tadashi Collection, Free People, BCBG and Alex Evening special occasion wear.

With a background in jewelry design, Geoffrey Scott has designed his boutique to feature fine jewelry and watches that patrons would find at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, or Barneys New York. You will also find accessories and apparel for men and women, all presented in one location that epitomizes the luxury lifestyle concept.

Opened in 2003 by Alamo's, Ashley Luengo, the boutique moved to Prospector's Place in 2006, and features a fashion-forward selection of designer fashion. The boutique is decorated with a fun and flirty, yet sophisticated eye.

Owner, Tricia Santa Ines, opened her original location in San Francisco's Mission District in 2005, and has since expanded to San Jose's Santana Row, and to Blackhawk Plaza last year.
The boutique combines a sweet spot for fashion, with a sweet tooth for the candies, cookies and brownies the store also sells.
The selection is geared to girly-girls who love vintage, as well as trendy choices from designers like Nicole Richie's House of Harlow line and Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's line, interspersed with fashion heavy-hitters like Gucci and Marc Jacobs.
