Police Chase In Danville: Dublin Man Surrenders

DANVILLE, CA — A chase by Danville police Friday morning resulted in the arrest of a 34-year-old Dublin man who was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Sidney Clifford Hill was taken into custody after he led a police chase in a stolen car and then fled on foot, including over business rooftops on E. Prospect Avenue, police said.

The chase began around 8:27 a.m. when Danville police were notified through the Town's ALPR system of a stolen vehicle. Within moments, officers tracked the vehicle to a Chevron station parking lot. The car's driver, later identified as Hill, tried to speed off but abandoned the vehicle after a short distance and fled on foot.

Hill finally surrendered after officers cornered him.

Hill was wanted on a warrant for failure to appear on a burglary charge. He was booked into Martinez Detention Facility on charges of possession of a stolen car, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, resisting arrest, and probation violation, Danville police said.
