DANVILLE, CA — Blackhawk Grille has closed after decades of feeding Tri-Valley diners.
The restaurant at 3540 Blackhawk Plaza Circle initially announced plans to temporarily close in March due to concerns about the new coronavirus. This week the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce confirmed parent company Tavistock Restaurant Collection will shutter the restaurant.
Tavistock could not be reached for comment.

Blackhawk Grille opened about 30 years ago as a fine-dining restaurant and was revamped in 2012 to serve as a more casual concept, Diablo Magazine wrote after the restaurant's makeover. The restaurant offered weekend brunch and featured a bar and al fresco seating overlooking the plaza's pond.
"It was a fun spot and many fond memories," one diner wrote on Blackhawk Grille's Yelp page. "I wish all the employee[s] there the best always."

This is the second Blackhawk Plaza restaurant to close this year. Prickly Pear Cantina, a Mexi-Cali restaurant owned by Rodney Worth, closed as a result of "California's harsh business climate," Worth said in January.
The Tri-Valley has seen a slew of business closures in recent weeks, from the Dublin Pier 1 Imports to Specialty's Cafe & Bakery in Pleasanton.
