Popular San Ramon, Danville Restaurateur Voted ‘Best Chef’
Diablo Magazine released its annual list of East Bay winners and Rodney Worth still holds one of the top spots.
DANVILLE, CA — A well-known East Bay restaurateur has recently been named “Best Chef” by Diablo Magazine. Danville resident Rodney Worth has held the coveted title for seven years in a row.
“It's very nice and I'm humbling that the people vote for me every year,” Worth said.
Worth owns seven popular Bay Area restaurants, including the The Peasant and The Pear, which holds a spot on a foodie bucket list of must-try Northern California restaurants.

"The Peasant and The Pear is our flagship and our baby," Worth said in a previous article. "I feel very humbled and proud. This restaurant now has been open for 12 years. We tried very hard every day to get the freshest, best ingredients available. We cook food that we like not trendy food. The people of the Tri-Valley definitely love great food and ultimately they're the ones who keep us open and continue to use us."
In addition to The Peasant & The Pear, Worth and his wife, Natalie, own The Peasant’s Courtyard, The Prickly Pear, The Pear South Bistro, The Little Pear, Ferrari’s Cucina Italiana and his latest culinary venture, Worth Ranch in San Ramon.
