SRVUSD Launches College & Career Readiness Plan
The TK-12 plan mixes traditional academics with practical life skills like job searching, financial planning, and good decision making.
SAN RAMON, CA — San Ramon Valley Unified School District launched its College and Career Readiness Plan, a TK-12 educational approach aiming to equip students with the tools and resources they need to succeed in post-secondary education and the workforce. The plan incorporates traditional academics, technical skills, socioemotional maturity, life skills, career discovery, and community engagement.
Components include:
- Academic Skills and Literacies: Math, Reading, Writing, Science, etc.
- SRVUSD Learner Profile Competencies: Intentional collaboration, effective communication, etc.
- CASEL Social-Emotional Competencies: Self-management, relationship skills, responsible decision making, etc.
- Post-Secondary, Professional & Career Skills: Networking, job searching, resume writing, interviewing, etc.
- Life and Personal Growth Skills: Time management, financial literacy, health and wellness, etc.
- Community Engagement & Service: Social and civic responsibility
“The College and Career Readiness Plan is a thorough review of how San Ramon Valley Unified School District, as an academic institution, can broaden the definition of success on the foundation of academic excellence so that all our students can thrive in the evolving world. We anticipate the team effort of our community as we work to provide this comprehensive advancement of opportunities,” SRVUSD Superintendent Dr. John Malloy said in a statement.
