Stolen Cars, Thefts In Danville Prompt Reminder From Police
Police ask Danville residents to 'hide it, lock it, take it.'

DANVILLE, CA — In the wake of recent auto thefts and car burglaries reported in Danville, officials remind residents to be vigilant about locking their cars. Between July 1 to Sep. 30, five cars were reported stolen in Danville and officers took 27 reports of thefts from cars.
Although the number is low overall, police say many of these crimes occurred when the vehicle owners left the keys or valuables in the car.
Police remind all who live, work or play in Danville to remove all items, valuable or not, from a vehicle before parking. Officials said if it isn't possible to take the valuables out of the car, drivers should stow items out of sight before parking and always lock the vehicle and take the keys.
