Vape Sale Ban Introduced By Danville Council
The town already bans smoking lounges and tobacco retailers near schools, parks and libraries.
DANVILLE, CA — In a move to keep tobacco and nicotine out of young bodies, the Danville Town Council is considering a ban on the sale of electronic smoking devices, or vapes, that have not been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The council unanimously voted at its Tuesday to introduce such an ordinance. Flavored vape cartidges, or vape juice, would also be banned.
The town currently requires tobacco retailers to get a license, regulates tobacco advertising, bans hookah and vapor lounges, the town wrote in a report to the council. Danville also banned in 2018 new tobacco retailers from opening within 1,000 feet of schools, parks and libraries, but existing retailers within 1,000 feet of those locations were grandfathered in.
