Day 6 in the 10 Days of Happiness: Make Time for Faith, Family & Friends

Listening to responses from total strangers on what makes them happy is exciting. An overwhelming number of people told me that Faith, Family and Friends were among the things that make them most happy.
Lauren Hudson, an Emmy award-winning Television reporter-turned-happiness coach (and now “The International Princess of Happiness”) says the role that relationship plays in happiness has been well documented. Having a friend to chat with or a family member to hang with can increase your level of happiness not just when we are going through tough times but also during the good time.

That is one reason why people that live an isolated life are more likely to be unhappy than their counterparts who live more inclusive lifestyles.

Social media has brought a lot of people together, however we need to take it a step further to create face-to-face contact and real relationships. That could explain why technology like Meetup.com, a platform that encourages people to “Do something • Learn something •Share something • Change something,” has become very popular. It brings total strangers together like the I Am Happy Project meet up groups.
Ken Granville, a system engineer and technical adviser shared the role that faith played in his happiness. Knowing that he is here for a purpose, working on that purpose to become successful and using that success to help others makes him happy.
