It's apple season!
Time for all those yummy apple desserts....pies, crisps, buckles, turnovers, cakes.... mmm... the mere thought of any of these makes your mouth water.
I know Apple Hill is just up the road and I'm sure you plan to drive up there soon, but in the meantime, you can get some delicious tasting apples here locally. The will tempt you with many delicious varieties of apples to eat or bake with. Nugget Market and the are good choices too.

For baking, Granny Smith apples are usually the best. They are firm to start with so they don't get too mushy during the baking process. They also have a wonderful tartness that is the perfect compliment to the sugar and spices in most apple recipes.
To get you started with your apple baking, I'd love to share with you one of my favorite and easiest recipes for Apple Crisp. I first tasted this dessert at a party and I just about swooned when I had my frist bite. I could not believe the topping was made from cake mix. It is not only quick and easy to make, it is REALLY delicious. Served warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, it is the perfect fall dessert.
