Wrong Due Date Listed on New Davis Sewer, City Charges Bill
Printing error lists incorrect bills due end of October.

In the midst of a new citywide billing cycle, City of Davis officials announced Tuesday afternoon that the billing period listed on its current city services bill is incorrect.
A total of 15,354 city service bills listed users billing period to be between Aug. 1 to Oct. 1, 2013. The correct billing period, according to the city's website, is through Aug. 31.
August was to be the first month the city billing cycle switched from being bi-monthly to monthly.
A printing error is to blame for the confusion, according to Kellie Bruton, Davis financial supervisor.
"It was hard-coded in (the system)," said Bruton. "We have it resolved now."
The August bills include combined charges to users for storm and sanitary sewer use, as well as the municipal service tax and public safety charges.
However, users are advised not to look for any errors in the amounts on the bills.
"This is the only a printing problem, the date is independent of any service charges," according to the city's website.
Bruton said the city will not be sending out new bills and is instead spreading the word on its website. Staff will notify any incoming callers of the correction, she said.
Bruton predicts any reprints would confuse people, adding a reprint would be costly.
