Crews Halt Fire Near Yolo County Line

Breaking: The vegetation fire broke out Wednesday afternoon, the Vacaville Fire Protection District reported.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA -- A vegetation fire that broke out Wednesday afternoon in north Solano County near the Yolo County line was held to five acres, according to an official with the Vacaville Fire Protection District.

The fire broke out just before 12:4o p.m. in the 8300 block of Quail Canyon Road, off of Pleasants Valley Road, in the Winters area.

Vacaville Fire Protection District Chief Howard Wood said the blaze was contained within about 30 minutes.

The fire was caused by a ride-on mower in a livestock field located in a valley, Wood said.

Firefighters from Cal Fire, Winters and Dixon also responded, he said.
