Facebook Page Launched in Opposition to City Layoffs & Concessions

"If carried out, the city manager's proposed budget will reduce staff and destroy employee morale to such a level that it will not be possible to maintain that high level of service."

A Facebook page was launched this week with the name, "Support Davis Employees-Say No to Unfair Employee Concessions and Layoffs"

The Facebook page was brought to our attention Tuesday by Matt Muller, the president of the Program, Administrative and Support Employees Association (PASEA). Here's what he had to say about the page's mission:

"We honestly believe that the majority of Davis citizens support the city employees and appreciate the level of service they provide. If carried out, the will reduce staff and destroy employee morale to such a level that it will not be possible to maintain that high level of service. Davis will be unable to recruit and retain quality employees. We feel that the public outcry on other blogs and media outlets in support of these measures is actually in the minority. We wanted to provide a simple means for those that those that don't support these measures to show their support for Davis employees."
