Governor Appoints Davisite to Legislative Position
Eric Gelber will serve the California Department of Developmental Services

Governor Jerry Brown appointed Davis' own Eric Gelber as assistant director of the office of legislation at the California Department of Developmental Services on July 17, according to a press release from the governor's office. Gelber was one of nine of the governors announced appoinments that day.
Since 2008, the 65-year-old Gelber has been chief consultant for the California State Assembly Committee on Human Services. He worked at Disability Rights California between 1983 to 2008 in roles such as staff attorney and managing attorney. His position doesn't require confirmation by the State Senate and his pay will be $115,008. Gelber also served on the Davis Social Services Commission.
