Heads Up: Don't Fall For This Scam, Davis

Notice from the Davis Police Department:

The Davis Police Department is warning residents of phony telephone calls from someone identifying themselves with the US Department of Treasury and threatening to send their “case” to the Grand Jury.

Community members are cautioned that these calls are designed to elicit personal information from you or to obtain money through fraudulent means.

The Treasury Department and the IRS do not conduct business over the phone, nor do they ask for personal information or money to be transferred to pre-paid cards such as Reload It or Green Dot Money Pak cards.

DO NOT PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION OR MONEY TO THESE CALLERS.
