Soroptimist International of Greater Davis to host Information Night!
Join us October 21st to learn how you can give back to your community while networking with other professional women.
Soroptimist International of Greater Davis will be hosting an Information Night on Wednesday, October 21st at 1pm at Carlton Plaza of Davis, 2726 Fifth Street. Please join us to learn more about Soroptimist International, our club, and the work we are doing on behalf of the women and girls in our community and beyond. Refreshments will be served and one lucky guest will win a gift basket.
Soroptimist International is a global women’s service organization that works to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. The Greater Davis Soroptimists join 1,300 Soroptimist clubs in 20 countries and territories that empower women and children through volunteer projects in local communities.
Through cash grants for education, hands-on efforts to end domestic violence, career mentoring for girls, women’s health initiatives and many other community-based projects, Soroptimists are women at their best helping other women to be their best. The Soroptimist Dream Programs—Live Your Dream: Education and Training Awards for Women and Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls—ensure women and girls have access to the education and training they need to reach their full potential and live their dreams. In the past SI of Great Davis has helped the Yolo Crisis Center, Yolo County MDIC, Salvation Army, Wreaths for Veterans, Yolo County Foster Children. Our club also awards an annual $2000 grant to women who are heads of household and are pursuing higher education.
