Special Event: Spring is in Bloom at Carlton Plaza of Davis

Floral designers from Stems Florist of Vacaville will lead a demonstration on flower arranging for guests and residents at Carlton Plaza of Davis on Sunday, March 22 at 2:30 p.m.

“Activities like floral arranging are mentally stimulating, allowing seniors to explore their artistic abilities and create beauty,” said Rob Read, executive director of Carlton Plaza of Davis.

Stems is a family owned and operated floral arrangement company serving the Vacaville area. A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine found that seniors who engage in at least one mentally stimulating activity a week reduced their risk of dementia by about seven percent. Additionally, the study indicated that seniors who stay more active and perform even more activities can reduce their risk by up to 63 percent.
