The San Diego Asian Film Festival (SDAFF), presented by Pacific Arts Movement, is San Diego’s premier film showcase of Asian American and international cinema. Founded in 2000, the festival has grown to become the largest exhibition of Asian cinema in the western United States, showcasing more than 130 films from more than 15 different countries each year.

Every year offers movie lovers and film buffs alike a variety of film genres including action, comedies and romantic comedies, to documentaries, animation, Asia-pop, family-friendly and more. SDAFF also brings West Coast and world premieres of films from around the world to San Diego. This gives audiences unique opportunities to discover international cinema, support independent film and experience up-close Q&A sessions and meet and greet photo opportunities with its filmmakers, producers, actors and actresses.
In its ‘sweet 16th year,’ celebrities scheduled to appear include Ken Jeong (Hangover, ABC’s Dr. Ken), Randall Park(The Interview, ABC’s Fresh Off The Boat), Jamie Chung (The Hangover II, III, Once Upon a Time, Big Hero 6), and Aaron Yoo (21, Nick and Noah’s Infinite Playlist). SDAFF is also proud to present its Lifetime Achievement Award to 104-year-old Tyrus Wong, painter, muralist, ceramicist, lithographer and designer who is best known for working on Disney animated classic, Bambi, and present its Digital Pioneer Award to Eugene Yang who is best known for his Buzzfeed videos. All film and filmmaker awards will be presented to its winners on Saturday, November 7 during its Gala Awards Night at the San Diego Marriott Mission Valley.

SDAFF films and programs will take place over 10 days and five different venues throughout San Diego County. The film festival’s home base will be at the UltraStar Mission Valley at Hazard Center, its opening film at the Sherwood Auditorium at the La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art, other programs at UCSD’s Calit2 and the Museum of Photographic Arts at Balboa Park, and its closing film at the historic La Paloma in Encinitas.
2015 All-Fest badges include all SDAFF films and programs for $250 to non-members and $150 to PacArts members. Some engagements are free of charge, while individual tickets to films and programs range from $9 to $15. All-Fest badges are on sale now at pacarts.org and tickets to films and programs can be purchased at festival.sdaff.org starting October 2nd.
