Del Mar Union School District School Registration Information

The Del Mar Union School District (DMUSD) consists of eight schools, which are Ashley Falls School, Carmel Del Mar School, Del Mar Heights School, Del Mar Hills Academy, Ocean Air School, Sage Canyon School, Sycamore Ridge School, Torrey Hills School, and Del Mar Preschool. For new students or residents, registration is open and school begins Aug. 27.

To locate the nearest school, visit the The Del Mar Union School District School Locator to enter your complete address. Keep in mind, the DMUSD wants to maintain balanced and smaller classroom sizes. Students are placed at a school based on availability.

Kindergarten Registration:

• For the 2012-2013 school year, kindergarteners must be five years old before Nov. 1, 2012.
• Parents will need to complete a registration packet with proof of residence, immunization (when enrolling in kindergarten or 1st grade), and age.
• Other forms include emergency information, race/ethnicity and home language, health history, kindergarten information, report of medical information, oral health assessment, and child care information.
• Polio, DTP/DtaP, MMR, Hepatitis B, and Varicella immunizations are required before school begins. More information on Health Requirements are found on the website.

Grades 1-6:

• A physical exam is required by the State of California before starting first grade.
• Immunizations listed under kindergarten requirements. 
• Parents will need to complete a registration packet with proof of residence, immunization (when enrolling in kindergarten or 1st grade), and age.
• Other forms include emergency information, race/ethnicity and home language, health history, kindergarten information, report of medical information, oral health assessment, and child care information.
