Carmel Valley Cuts Post Office Hours
A representative at the U.S. Postal Service confirmed on Tuesday that she uncertain when these new hours would take effect.
The USPS announced last week that in an effort to reduce costs, it will reduce retail hours in seven San Diego communities including Carmel Valley.
“These changes were approved after careful analysis of customer traffic patterns and transaction history,” it said in an announcement. “A generation ago customers had no choice but to visit a Post Office to buy stamps or ship a package. But today it’s not just about brick-and-mortar Post Offices as the Postal Service moves online and into retail outlets, grocery stores, office supply chains and pharmacies.”
The following locations will have the indicated new retail hours:

Carmel Valley (Hallmark)
- 1330 Valley Centre Dr., San Diego
- 10 am – 5 pm
- Closed for lunch 12:30 pm – 1:00 pm

Midway Post Office at 2535 Midway Dr., San Diego
