Del Mar Lifeguard Station Earns Project of Year Award
The 17th Street Safety Center in Del Mar earned an American Public Works Association award.

The Del Mar Lifeguard station at 17th Street is earning more than great safety records. It earned the American Public Works Association's Project of the Year Award.
Del Mar Assistant City Manager Mark Delin announced the award in his April 5 City of Del Mar Weekly Update.
The U-T San Diego reported that the lifeguard station will be recognized by the local chapter of the American Public Works Association at an awards program May 9.

The $2 million 17th Street Safety Center was dedicated and opened in June 2012.
