Del Mar School District to Pay Former Superintendent $388K
Sharon McClain, who was terminated in 2010, won a lawsuit against the school district.

A Superior Court judge ruled that the Del Mar Union School District will need to pay $388,537 to former Superintendent Sharon McClain for wrongfully terminating her, according to a U-T San Diego report.
The district—whose board of trustees voted to terminate McClain in 2010—will also have to her an additional $30,000 in interest, according to the newspaper.
A performance evaluation stated that McClain "positioned" herself as "fighting against the Board instead of being part of a governance team," according to the newspaper.
