An eastbound Hyundai Elantra piloted by a 27-year-old man blew through the signal at Bernardo Heights Parkway and Avenida Venusto and struck a turning Honda CRV shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday, according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.

The Hyundai's driver sustained a non-left-threatening open fracture to his leg, Delimitros said.
