Utility Worker Impostor Attempted to Enter North County Home, Sheriff's Department Says
The San Diego Sheriff's Department advises residents to ask for identification if a worker is suspected of being an impostor.

The Sheriff's Department warned coastal residents today about a man who recently impersonated a utility worker in a failed bid to gain access to someone's home.
The incident occurred in the area of Leucadia, just west of Interstate 15, the morning of Dec. 6, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
The man represented himself as a San Dieguito Water Utility worker and said he needed to get inside someone's home to test the water pressure. The resident asked the man for official identification and the man went to his car, then drove off.
