Pomona Host Lions to Meet Thursday

Members of the Pomona Host Lions will meet at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, August 16 at the Pomona Valley Mining Company, 1777 Gillette Road.

Addressing the membership will be David Larson, Health Services Program Administrator for the Pomona Unified School District.  His topic will be “The Pomona Lions Vision and Hearing Clinic: Past, Present and Future.”  The Pomona Host Lions led the fundraising drive, which culminated in the building of the clinic at Marshall Middle School for the school district in 2002.

Club members will discuss their upcoming participation in the Pomona Day at the Fair and the expansion of its student literacy programs.

If any members or local residents have trees with ripe fruit they are willing to donate to the poor and homeless, club members will pick the fruit. All fruit is donated to the Inland Valley Hope Partners’ local food pantry.  The donation of non-perishable food and personal hygiene items also are gladly accepted.
