This Saturday, July 16th, The Growing Home will be hosting an Intro to Gardening class and a Potluck dinner.
For the class we'll be going over:
- basic of preparing your soil for a vegetable garden
- how to start plants from seeds
- the proper way to transplant seedlings and store bought plants
- how to water and care for your garden
- planning and designing a vegetable garden
- a small intro to composting food waste
The class will be from 5:00 to 6:30pm and the suggested donation is $10 (the potluck is separate)
From 6:30 on will be the potluck. Please bring a dish to share (preferably homemade, vegetarian items appreciated, not required). We'll also be lighting up the firepit once it gets dark.
Some small plants, dried herbs, and kombucha will also be available for fundraising.
