Fairkids Program Will Bring Kids to the L.A. County Fair

The program will take place September 5 through 28.

The Los Angeles County Fair Association invites local schools to take part in the annual Fairkids Field Trip program September 5 through 28.

The field trips will be offered Wednesdays through Fridays, for preschool through middle schoolers. An interactive program, Fairkids allows kids to enter the fairgrounds three hours before the fair opens, with access to interactive art, agriculture, literature, and science exhibits.

For teachers, a resource guide with curriculum-recommended reading, lesson plans, and writing activities is available.

Admission and parking is free. Transportation must be provided by the schools, but the L.A. County Fair Association has created a Yellow Bus Program to help fund bringing students to the event. Last year, 1,600 students were brought in through this program; the goal this year is 2,500 students.
