Fourth grade team with members John Chou (Westhoff), Katherine Lee (Vejar), William Lin (Westoff) and Andrew Robison (C.J. Morris) earned Bronze Medals.
"Congratulations to all of our students - we are very proud of you!” said Suzanne teachers and math coaches Amy Erickson and Larry Pinto.
Erickson and Pinto worked with about 40 incoming fourth- and fifth-grade students and their parents during four mathlete workshops held in May. Then they selected teams for the L.A. County Fair competition.
The students from Collegewood, C.J. Morris, Westhoff and Vejar Elementary Schools made new friends and hopefully will join MATHCOUNTS clubs at their schools in the fall, Pinto said.
