Citizen Tip Leads To Vacaville Man's Arrest In W. Texas St. Homicide
BREAKING: The 57-year-old victim from Fairfield was found stabbed to death Monday.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA – A 30-year-old man from Vacaville was arrested Saturday in connection with last week's stabbing death of a man found in the grass on West Texas Street in Fairfield, according to police.
Investigators from the Fairfield Police Major Crimes Division arrested Gregory Washington following a tip from a citizen to the Vacaville Police Department, Fairfield police said today.
Vacaville police detained Washington and notified the Fairfield agency, which then booked him into the Solano County Jail for one count of suspicion of murder, police said.

The victim, Mark Merle Pyne, a 57-year-old Fairfield resident, died from multiple stabs wounds. His body was found around 4:45 p.m. Monday in the grass in the 1700 block of West Texas Street at Fifth Street, according to police.
On Thursday, police released a photo and two surveillance videos of a person of interest in the case and asked anyone who recognized him or was in the area of West Texas at Fifth Street between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Sept. 19 to call the Major Crimes Unit. Police did not release the men's connection to each other or a possible motive.
