Rollover Caused Tragic Death of Dixon Woman Wednesday on I-80

The Solano County coroner officially identified the victim from the solo-car accident.

The Solano County coroner’s office has identified a woman who died in a solo vehicle crash on Interstate Highway 80 near Dixon on Wednesday as 34-year-old Sara Duarte.

Duarte, a Dixon resident, was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix on eastbound Highway 80 east of Pedrick Road around 3 p.m. Wednesday, California Highway Patrol Officer William Lee said.

The Pontiac slowly left the road and crashed into a metal pole, peeling the metal off of the right side of the Pontiac before it overturned and landed on its roof on the right shoulder of the road, Lee said.

Dixon fire paramedics were at the scene when CHP officers arrived, Lee said.

Duarte was taken to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

There was no indication of speeding or signs of braking, Lee said.

Traffic slowed at the crash site but the highway remained open, he said.
