Alameda County Emergency Rental Assistance Program Now Open

Very low- to low-income families financially impacted by the pandemic are eligible. Enroll through 8 p.m. August 11.

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — Households facing late rent payments as a result of the pandemic are now eligible for the county's Emergency Rent Assistance Program.

Very low- to low-income families and people are eligible for up to two months' rent or $3,500 in assistance. Those who have already received help through a rental assistance program may receive a months' rent or $1,750.

Residents will be eligible if their household does not exceed 50 percent of the area median income last year. They must be able to prove they have lost income and assets by showing termination notice, pay stubs, bank account statements, medical bills or other types of documentation.

Residents of Berkeley and Oakland are not eligible.

Money will go straight to landlords.
