Dublin High Graduation and More

Friends and Residents of Dublin! Good weather has finally arrived to Dublin. Better late than never!

Friends and Residents of Dublin! Good weather has finally arrived to Dublin. Better late than never! A few updates to share:

It was an honor to deliver the opening remarks to Dublin High School's graduating Class of 2011. As President of the Dublin High School Alumni Association, I welcomed the graduates into the alumni association. See my remarks here. This year's graduating class has raised the bar for excellence at Dublin High School. It features graduates heading off to the Ivy League, the United States Military Academy, and top University of California schools across the state. It also features one of my favorite graduates, , the 2010 homecoming queen -- see OneDublin's write-up on Rachel at here or read more on Dublin Patch .

My First Radio Ad

I was born with a face for radio. And that finally revealed itself this past Monday when I recorded my first radio ad on KKIQ (101.7 FM -- "Your Hometown Station").  I was proud to promote shopping in Dublin and featured Dublin's only suit and tailoring shop, . I will gladly promote any Dublin business that allows me to also give a plug for the quality shopping we have in Dublin. Shop Dublin! I'm also proud that having a "Shop Dublin" weekend is something the Council and I are working with the Chamber of Commerce to establish. More details soon!

Alumni Association Fireworks Booth

In 2006, myself and a small band of Dublin High graduates formed the Dublin High School Alumni Association. This fall, we celebrate our Fifth Anniversary. In five years, we have mentored seniors, held numerous events that have brought alums together, and have awarded over $6,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors. This summer, from June 28--July 4, we have a fireworks booth in Dublin. This is our first booth and allows us to raise up to $10,000 to support mentoring, events, and scholarships. If you can volunteer for a 3-hour shift, please contact me at: eswalwell@dublinhighalums.org

Reminder!

The Firefighters from Local 55 will be at my Shamrock Family Bowling Tournament  Wednesday, June 22 at 5:30p.m. at Earl Anthony's Dublin Bowl. They'll be grilling FREE HOT DOGS & HAMBURGERS FOR ALL! RSVP Today at: swalwell.event@gmail.com or learn more here.
