Richard Harris & Friends Jazz Appreciation Concert @ Contra Costa Library in Martinez

Richard Harris & Friends Jazz Appreciation Concert @ Contra Costa Library in Martinez

Richard Harris called me this week and let me know of a free Jazz Appreciation Concert that happened today (4/14) at the Contra Costa Library in Martinez.

Richard Harris on bass, Dan Daniels on Keyboards and Tim Merritt on Sax. Richard's wife Diana also sang a couple songs. It was great to hear some good jazz that was put on to show the history of jazz. They played a wide variety of tunes and made a sunny afternoon even better for me and many others.

The concert was funded by the "Friends of the Martinez Library", which is a non-profit group that takes donations of books and sells them at the library. They also accept donations. All of which helps fund activities such as this. Their next book sale is April 21, 2012 and you can buy a whole BAG of books for $8 or two for $15!!! Say Hi to Irene Wakeland if you visit the bookstore.

It would be great if they can get better financial support to fund more programs like today's! Contact "Friends of the Martinez Library" at 740 Court St. Matinez, CA 94553 and get on their newsletter to keep up on future events.

Also thanks to Catherine Oliver for organizing the event.
