Two students were burned at Dublin High tonight while cooking outside on a camping-style stove, according to Alameda County Fire officials.
Alameda County Fire spokesperson Aisha Knowles said the students were cooking for the annual Powder Puff game when the accident happened just before 6:15 p.m. According to Knowles, both students suffered first-degree burns when the stove malfunctioned.

“One [victim] was transported, the other declined transport,” Knowles said. “The incident was initially reported as an explosion but it was more of a loud sound that was best described as an explosion during all of the chaos.”
Knowles said the students were getting ready to make chicken tenders for the football game. Both students are expected to make a full recovery.
