Officers were out in force Thursday morning.
DUBLIN, CA — California Highway Patrol officers issued 72 citations for carpool violations in Tri-Valley during a saturation patrol between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. Thursday morning. The extra enforcement was held to crack down on drivers committing HOV lane violations along Interstate 580 in Dublin, Pleasanton and Livermore.
"The CHP is dedicated to enforcing the carpool and express lanes," Captain Chris Sherry said. "We want to ensure that the proper motorists are utilizing these lanes and traffic congestion is lessened. Today, many motorists were educated through our enforcement actions and thousands of motorists saw that. I am proud of our officers’ efforts."
