Dublin To Fly Rainbow Flag Above City Hall For Pride Month

June is LGBTQ Pride Month in the Dublin, which "thrives upon the rich diversity ... of its residents," the council declared.

DUBLIN, CA — The City of Dublin will fly a rainbow flag above City Hall in June, in honor of LGBTQ Pride Month.

The Dublin City Council proclaimed June to be Pride Month at its May 19 council meeting.

The city is dedicated to preventing discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, the council said in its proclamation.

"The City of Dublin is strengthened by and thrives upon the rich diversity of ethnic, cultural, racial, gender, and sexual identities; all of which contribute to [Dublin's] vibrant character," the proclamation read.

The Bay Area is known for its San Francisco Pride parade and celebration, though it has been canceled this year amid the coronavirus pandemic. SF Pride will still be held online.
