Dublin Police Host 2022 Citizens Academy

Applications are open until March 4 to join the Citizens Academy, which educates the community about a number of law enforcement topics.

DUBLIN, CA — Registration is open for the Dublin Police Services’ 2022 Citizens Academy, a program designed to educate the public about law enforcement and foster community ties. The academy will be held in person this year. The program lasts each Wednesday from 5:30 to 8 p.m., from March 30 to June 1.

Law enforcement staff will provide information on a variety of topics, including:

  • Crime Scene/Evidence Collection
  • Gangs and Drugs
  • Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Services
  • Traffic and Radio Operations
  • Auto Burglaries and Residential Burglaries

Participants will also tour Santa Rita Jail, and witness officer training at the Emergency Vehicle Operations Course.

Participants must be at least 18 years old, and live or work in Dublin. Sessions are limited to 25 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants must complete a background check and be approved by the Dublin Chief of Police.

The deadline to complete the application is Friday, March 4, at 11:59 p.m.
