Dublin Residents Asked To Help Name Future Wallis Ranch Park

The community is invited to come up with names for an 8.75-acre park that will feature playgrounds, tennis courts, a dog park, and more.

DUBLIN, CA — Dublin is about to inaugurate the new 30-acre Don Biddle Community Park Sunday, and it is already preparing for another park.

The city has set aside 8.85 acres on three separate parcels in the Wallis Ranch area between Tassajara Road and the Wallis Ranch residential neighborhood. The unnamed park will include:

  • Playgrounds
  • Picnic areas
  • Grass area
  • Restrooms
  • Three lighted tennis courts
  • Four lighted pickleball courts
  • Two lighted basketball courts
  • A picnic area
  • Fitness circuit
  • Dog park
  • Drinking fountains

The city is asking for community input on what to call this park, which is being designed with the theme of “Windswept Grassland” in mind.

Anyone with ideas for what to call the park are asked to fill out a survey before Sunday, Oct. 2 at 11:59 p.m. When determining possible names, respondents are asked to consider geographic location and characteristics, landscape, design amenities, historical significance, traditional names of the area, someone who made a difference in Dublin, adjoining neighborhoods, etc.
