Dublin Swim Center Permanently Closed to the Public

DUBLIN, CA — After 45 years, the Dublin Swim Center is now closed to the public and will soon be permanently closed, school district officials said. The new Aquatics Center at the Emerald Glen Park is expected to open in Dublin this spring. In November, the city council made the decision to turn the operations of the Dublin Swim Center over to the school district. The facility, which was built in 1972, is located on school district property.

“Due to high operational costs, it is not financially viable for the Dublin Unified to solely operate the Dublin Swim Center,” district officials said in a statement. “The Swim Center is closed permanently for public use and will be closed for school use in June 2017.”

Students will be able to use the facility for physical education swim classes and swim teams through May of 2017, district officials said.
