Former Dublin Golf Coach Convicted Of Sexual Abuse Of Minor: DA

Kwangson "Sonny" Kim was convicted Monday of sexually abusing a student from age 12 to 15.

DUBLIN, CA — A former golf instructor in Dublin and Livermore was convicted Monday of sexual abuse of a minor, the Alameda County District Attorney reported.

Kwangson “Sonny” Kim, 55, was convicted by a jury of continuous sexual abuse of one of his students from November 2014, when she was 12 years old, to February 2018, when she was 15. Kim would drive the victim to and from practices, and provided her with group and individual lessons, according to the district attorney. Over that period of time, prosecutors say that Kim abused the victim.

Kim coached golf to hundreds of students, including minors, at the Dublin Ranch Golf Course and the Tri-Valley Golf Center in Livermore.
