Livermore Company Supports Women in Need Fund

Livermore-based McGrath RentCorp raises funds for ValleyCare Charitable Foundation's Women in Need Fund

McGrath RentCorp, headquartered in Livermore, is doing its part to help women in need. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, every day of the month that one of their employees wore pink, the employee donated $5 to ValleyCare Charitable Foundation’s Women in Need Fund. In addition, Sherry LaSalle, a Stanford Health Care – ValleyCare Breast Cancer Patient Navigator, manned an educational booth for McGrath employees, which raised additional funds. At the end of the month, McGrath matched all proceeds from the employees’ efforts. The fundraiser netted $776 for the Women in Need Fund.

“Our company’s success is built on a strong foundation of values. From a commitment to our employees to unwavering integrity with our customers, we believe people are our most valuable asset. For that reason, we decided to focus on helping breast cancer patients in our community undergoing treatment,” said Christy Folis, McGrath RentCorp’s Employee Engagement Committee Leader.

The Women in Need Fund provides financial assistance to uninsured and underinsured women in the Tri-Valley undergoing breast cancer treatment and/or in need of related medical supplies. “On behalf of the Stanford Health Care – ValleyCare patients who will benefit from their fundraising, I would like to thank everyone at McGrath RentCorp for their generosity,” said Shaké Sulikyan, Executive Director of ValleyCare Charitable Foundation. “Their donation will ensure that patients going through breast cancer treatment and recovery can focus on the fight against breast cancer and their recovery, instead of the medical bills and co-pays.”
