New School Year, Two New Principals Appointed

On August 2, 2012, the Board of Trustees approved personnel appointments of two leadership vacancies in the district.

Mrs. Nicole Williams Browning has been appointed the new principal of Kolb
Elementary School. She replaces Mrs. Lynn Medici who has accepted the position of director of educational services, elementary level at the district office. Mrs. Williams Browning most recently served as principal of Lincoln Middle School in the Alameda Unified School District since 2009. She has served as a vice principal at Washington Manor Middle School in San Lorenzo. Prior to entering administration, Mrs. Williams Browning taught high school English in Alameda and Fremont School Districts. Mrs. Williams Browning will begin in her new position in August, 2012.

Mr. Brett Nelson has been appointed the new principal of . He replaces Mrs. Catherine Ward-Mikes who has accepted a position as
a middle school principal in Hillsborough. Mr. Nelson most recently served as
principal of Warm Springs Elementary School in the Fremont Unified School District where he has served since 2008. He has also served as the vice principal of Newark Junior High School in Newark and the vice principal at Gomes Elementary School in Fremont. Mr. Nelson previously taught high school history in Fremont. Mr. Nelson will begin in his new position in August, 2012.

The Dublin Unified School District welcomes Mrs. Nicole Williams Browning and Mr. Brett Nelson to Dougherty and Kolb Elementary Schools and the Dublin community.
