Parks and Community Services Director Appointed in Dublin

James Rodems will begin as Dublin's Parks and Community Services Director on August 1, 2016.

DUBLIN, CA: Following a nationwide recruitment, Dublin City Manager Chris Foss has appointed James M. Rodems, District Administrator for the Cordova Recreation and Parks District, to the position of Parks and Community Services Director. Mr. Rodems fills the vacant position created when Paul McCreary resigned to head up the Hayward Area Recreation District in January 2016.

“I am pleased to announce the appointment of James Rodems as the new Parks and Community Services Director for the City of Dublin. We are fortunate that the search resulted in the appointment of an individual with extensive experience in parks management, facilities management and operations, event planning, and capital project management,” said City Manager Chris Foss. “His background and outstanding fiscal management skills make him the ideal candidate to guide the City of Dublin in the building and operation of our future parks and facilities.”

Mr. Rodems is arriving at the City of Dublin during an exciting time, as the City is embarking on the expansion of its parks system with the addition of several new neighborhood parks, as well as the design and development of new community park features, including Fallon Sports Park Phase 2 and the new Emerald Glen Recreation and Aquatic Complex, all of which will add to Dublin’s high quality of life.
