• DOJ Agent Shortage Limits Dublin Anti-Drug Operations (independentnews.com) — State justice officials say a severe shortage of California DOJ special agents at the Dublin office is hampering efforts to tackle fentanyl trafficking, illegal firearms and other serious crimes across the Bay Area. With most agent positions on Dublin's Fentanyl Enforcement Program team vacant, law enforcement leaders cite high housing costs and lower state pay, and urge residents to press legislators for more funding and staffing.
   

• Culinary Angels looking for new executive director (pleasantonweekly.com) — Culinary Angels, the Tri-Valley nonprofit that delivers nutritious meals to cancer patients and caregivers in Pleasanton, Dublin, Livermore, San Ramon and Danville, is searching for a new executive director after parting ways with its former leader. The board is actively recruiting a successor to guide the 10-year-old organization's next chapter of service to local families.
   

• Livermore Teen Killed In Monterey Crash, Dublin Driver Suspected Of DUI (patch.com) — A 20-year-old Dublin resident is under investigation for suspected DUI after a single-car crash in Monterey that killed a 19-year-old Livermore passenger and injured three others. Authorities say the Dublin driver showed signs of impairment and tested above the legal blood alcohol limit for under-21 drivers, and investigators plan to pursue gross vehicular manslaughter charges. A fundraiser has been launched to support the victim's family.
