Pedestrian Killed On Dougherty Road, Driver Charged With DUI: Police

Dublin police are investigating a Sunday night collision that marked the city's first traffic fatality of 2022.

DUBLIN, CA — Dublin police are investigating a crash that killed a woman on Dougherty Road Sunday night. The driver, Giovanni Fissore of Livermore, was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.

The victim was walking in the southbound lanes of Dougherty Road just north of Dublin Boulevard at around 10 p.m. Sunday when she was hit by a Chevrolet SUV, police said.

Paramedics arrived and tried to perform life-saving measures, but she was pronounced dead on the scene. Police say the driver remained on-scene.

Fissore was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence. Dublin police told KTVU that his child was in the car at the time of the incident.
