Rep. Swalwell Issues Statement On Shooting At Congressional Baseball Practice

"To see players, staff, and officers who protect us under attack is sickening."

WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-15) issued the following statement after several people were shot Wednesday morning in Alexandria, VA, at a practice session for this week’s charity Congressional baseball game:

“I pray for the recovery of my GOP colleagues, staff, and U.S. Capitol Police officers who were shot at their baseball practice this morning. This charity game has always been a refuge from the tense battles inside the Capitol. To see players, staff, and officers who protect us under attack is sickening. Thank God for the brave Capitol Police officers who responded.”

Rep. Swalwell does play in the annual charity game for the Democratic side. The Democrats practice at a different facility.
