Swalwell Retains Congressional Seat
The Associated Press called the race for the East Bay Democrat Wednesday morning.
EAST BAY, CA — East Bay voters have decided they want U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) to serve another term representing California's 15th Congressional District.
Swalwell maintained a significant lead over Republican challenger Alison Hayden. He ultimately received 73 percent of the vote, while Hayden received 27 percent.

California's 15th Congressional District includes all or part of the following communities: San Ramon; Dublin; Pleasanton; Livermore; Hayward; Union City; Fremont; Castro Valley; San Lorenzo; San Leandro; Danville; Cherryland; Ashland; Sunol; and Fairview.
Swalwell, who was once a 2020 presidential candidate, was raised in Dublin and first elected to the seat in 2012. He serves on the powerful House Judiciary Committee and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, where he chairs the Intelligence Modernization and Readiness Subcomittee.

Swalwell and Hayden were the top two vote-getters in the March primary. Swalwell held a significant lead with 59 percent of the vote, while Hayden came in second place with 17 percent. Two Democrats, a Republican and a nonpartisan candidate split the remaining 14 percent of the vote.
