The 9th Annual Inter-faith Blood Drive is July 12th & 20th

During the month of July each year, The American Red Cross partners with many churches throughout the bay area to host blood drives in the critical summer period when many schools and colleges are not available for drives.

In the Tri-Valley area, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Catholic Community of Pleasanton work together in hosting blood drives during the month as part of this Interfaith effort.

WHY give blood?
Rebecca Tervydis of Pleasanton shared her story of blood donations saving her life: Because of my health I'm unable to give blood. but it is so very important for those who can give blood to do so.

I have a liver from my amazing Donor, Jake but, I languished in the Hospitals for four months. Much of that time I was just a 'blood transfusion' or 'blood product' away from NOT making it. I received 56 complete blood transfusions and 10 blood product transfusions while I was waiting for the Liver. If people had not donated that blood I wouldn't be here.”
