Swalwell Owes Kansas City Rep. East Bay Treats For Super Bowl Bet

U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) will have to wear a Kansas City Chiefs jersey and send chocolates to U.S. Rep. Sharice Davids (D-KS).

TRI-VALLEY, CA — U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) of the Tri-Valley will be wearing red and gold, but it won't be for the San Francisco 49ers.

Swalwell made a bet with Kansas City U.S. Rep. Sharice Davids (D-KS) last week, ahead of the Super Bowl. If the Niners won, Davids would have owed Swalwell Kansas City barbecue.

But since the Kansas City Chiefs prevailed, Swalwell owes her Blommer Chocolate Company chocolates, from Union City. He has to wear a Chiefs jersey, too.

Last week Davids said she looked forward to receiving a box of chocolates, but "but nothing will be as sweet as when Kansas City beats the 49ers."

"I will send you as much chocolate as you guys want," Swalwell said. "Actually I'll send you the whole factory, because it's not even going to happen, not even close."

On Sunday Swalwell congratulated the Chiefs on a great game and said he would make good on his bet.

"I've got your jersey right here," Davids said in a tweet after the game.

"I think I sweated enough through that game to possibly fit into that jersey," Swalwell said.
