Last Chance: Troubadour Music That Will Tickle Your Brain

La Noches de Trovas is expected to play to a packed audience Saturday.

La Noches de Trovas ("The Night of the Troubadours") is a monthly music series that, in the words of one of its performers, Tomas Cadena, not only features "music that proposes something” but is aimed at making listeners “think and reflect.”

Saturday, April 7, will be your first and last chance in months to hear La Noches de Trovas at the .

The trovas, who include Esteban Leon, Tomas Cadena and George Negrete, will play bolero-like songs of love and longing—not unlike Cuba's famous Buena Vista Social Club. Don’t be fooled by the band’s Latin-sounding name, though—the musicians are also steeped in Bob Dylan-influenced blues, country, jazz, folk, bossa nova and rancherra.
